About the role

This position leads patient care using the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN delegates, directs and assists team members, ensures quality outcomes and supports Ochsner’s philosophy of nursing.

Key responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care and assess learning needs.
Communicate, delegate and manage nursing team resources as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
Evaluate data to promote change and achieve optimal outcomes.
Maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations and accreditation standards.
Provide culturally sensitive care and adapt communication to diverse patient populations.

Required profile

Registered Nurse diploma; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Current RN license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
No prior experience required; certification in a clinical specialty area preferred.
