PRN RN – Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking PRN Registered Nurses to work in its 21‑bed Cardiovascular ICU. This per‑diem role provides flexible shift options while delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care to adults with complex cardiac conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and implement patient care plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care, monitor and communicate patient status.
• Execute physician and nursing orders, assess discharge needs, and document accurately.
• Maintain professional growth through ongoing education and clinical study.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current RN licensure in the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (by hire or within first year).
• Two years of recent related nursing experience for external applicants; internal candidates may be considered with CNO approval.

Required skills

• RN licensure and ability to perform full range of patient handling and monitoring tasks.
