Principal Financial Analyst – FP&A (Card Finance)

About the role

Capital One is looking for a Principal Financial Analyst to join its Card Finance team. In this senior FP&A position you will own financial forecasting, executive reporting and presentations, and help shape strategy through insightful analysis of marketing spend and P&L performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and P&L management for the Card business.
• Collect, validate and consolidate data from analysts across departments, run models and communicate results.
• Develop and deliver business presentations that translate complex financial data into clear, compelling stories for senior leaders.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities proactively and provide actionable recommendations.
• Support ad‑hoc requests and special projects, managing workload independently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent military experience) with at least 4 years of financial analysis or modeling experience.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and strategic thinking abilities.
• Experience building trusted relationships with peers and senior leadership.
• Willingness to work on‑site in McLean, VA.
