Postdoctoral Research Associate in Computational Biomedicine

About the role

The Gyori Lab for Computational Biomedicine at Northeastern University seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to develop new computational methods in knowledge‑grounded AI, systems modeling, natural language processing, and data harmonization, with applications in biomedicine.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original research in knowledge‑grounded AI, systems modeling, NLP, and data harmonization.
• Lead implementation of research methods as reusable scientific software.
• Benchmark computational methods using real‑world applications.
• Publish findings and present results at conferences.
• Contribute to grant proposals and collaborate with students, developers, and partners.
• Mentor junior researchers.

Required profile

• PhD in computer science, computational biology, biomedical engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated track record in at least one of: knowledge‑grounded AI, systems modeling, NLP, or data integration.
• Record of research productivity (publications, open‑source software, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams.

• Knowledge‑grounded artificial intelligence and knowledge graphs (including LLM and RAG approaches).
• Systems and mathematical modeling of biological or complex systems.
