Postdoctoral Fellow in Biomedical Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join Dr. Koyal Garg’s laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Saint Louis University. The two‑year, full‑time position supports independent research in biomaterials, tissue engineering and cellular biology, with opportunities for teaching and grant development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute independent research projects and contribute to ongoing lab initiatives.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in laboratory techniques.
• Maintain rigorous ethical standards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Assist in preparation of grant proposals and scholarly manuscripts.
• Participate in departmental teaching activities as needed.

Required profile

• Ph.D. (or near completion) in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, biomaterials, animal models, histology and biochemical assays.
• Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Self‑motivated, collaborative and able to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
