Physician – Hematology Oncology – Full‑Time Academic

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health System – Monroe Medical Center and LSU Health Sciences Center‑Shreveport are seeking a full‑time academic physician in the Section of Hematology‑Oncology. The position is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with opportunities for teaching, research, and administrative advancement.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in faculty activities including teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Conduct translational or clinical research, publish findings, and present at conferences.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses to develop customized patient care plans.
• Provide physician leadership and input at all levels of administration.

Required profile

• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Hematology‑Oncology (BE/BC required).
• Valid Louisiana medical license (or eligibility for licensure).
• MD or equivalent degree with interest in Hematology, Lung, Breast and/or GI oncology.
• J‑1 waiver visa applicants are welcome.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record platform.
• Experience or interest in translational and/or clinical research.
