Echo Sonographer – Imaging (Monroe)

About the role

This position provides individualized, direct patient care by performing a variety of cardiac sonographic procedures, including electrocardiograms, 2D/M‑Mode, Doppler, Color Flow imaging, Exercise Stress Echo and Dobutamine Stress Echo. The sonographer compiles diagnostic information, presents preliminary findings and collaborates with the health‑care team to ensure high‑quality patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepares, instructs and educates patients on sonographic procedures.
• Performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations, including 2D/M‑Mode, Doppler and stress echo studies.
• Documents findings, maintains accurate records and assists physicians with ultrasound‑guided interventions.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and maintains patient confidentiality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; active RDCS or RCS registration (or obtain within 6 months).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• General knowledge of cardiac anatomy, Doppler physics and hemodynamics.
• Ability to identify stenosis or occlusion using published criteria and to work flexible hours.

Required skills

• 2D/M‑Mode echocardiography.
• Doppler and Color Flow imaging.
• Exercise Stress Echo and Dobutamine Stress Echo.
• Proficiency with computer‑based imaging software.
