Physical Therapist Assistant – Outpatient

About the role

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides routine outpatient treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The role includes direct patient care, documentation of progress, and communication with the therapy team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical therapy treatments as prescribed by the physician and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Document patient status changes, progress notes, and communicate reassessments to the therapist.
• Maintain patient records according to documentation standards and policies.
• Participate in staff and committee projects and achieve productivity targets.
• Educate and train others within the discipline as needed.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Physical Therapy Assistant license in Louisiana or eligibility for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Ability to use Windows‑style applications and related software packages.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
