About the role
The Phlebotomy Technician is an essential member of the Medical Laboratory Team at Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital. Working nights with on‑call responsibilities, you will help ease patient anxiety while collecting blood and other specimens.
Key responsibilities
- Perform blood collection and venipuncture procedures, maintaining accurate log sheets.
- Verify orders, label specimens, and deliver them to the appropriate processing area.
- Process specimens including accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging.
- Transport blood, other samples, and lab supplies throughout the facility.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Technical proficiency with standard phlebotomy procedures and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a team environment.
Required skills
- Venipuncture technique.
- Specimen labeling and handling.
- Accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging of samples.
- Use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
