About the role

The Phlebotomist supports patient care by performing phlebotomy procedures, processing specimens, and assisting the laboratory team at St. Charles Parish Hospital.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct venipuncture and other phlebotomy procedures.
  • Process, accession, and distribute specimens for testing.
  • Enter patient information and retrieve data using computer systems.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a phlebotomy course preferred.
  • Current state phlebotomy license or trainee license.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel between facilities.
  • Physical ability to sit for prolonged periods and lift moderate weights.

Required skills

  • Computer data‑entry skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows‑style applications.
  • Knowledge of venipuncture procedures.
  • Phlebotomy techniques.
