Medical Assistant (PRN) – Luling, LA

About the role

Provide individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically and via telephone under supervision of a licensed health care provider. Support patients and providers throughout each visit while ensuring accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the patient and provider throughout the patient visit and ensure preparation for the appointment.
• Answer patient questions, provide excellent service over the phone and in person, and prepare the exam room for the next patient.
• Complete documentation, including patient registration and clinical notes, using company data systems.
• Maintain clinical knowledge, technical skills, and credentials through ongoing professional development.
• Comply with Department of Transportation workplace drug and alcohol testing programs when applicable.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED; preferred completion of a formal medical assistant training program.
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Medical Assistant Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required skills

• Clinical knowledge and proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication with patients, families, and health care staff.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
