Philanthropy Assistant

About the role

Catholic Charities of Philadelphia is looking for a full-time Philanthropy Assistant to provide flexible, as-needed support to its Philanthropy Department. The role covers fundraising, donor engagement, communications, administration and special projects, working with the Director of Philanthropy. It is non-exempt and offers evenings and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general project and administrative support for Philanthropy initiatives and departmental priorities.
• Assist with fundraising campaigns, donor communications, stewardship, special events and other development projects.
• Help prepare correspondence, mailings, reports, presentations and other Philanthropy materials.
• Maintain accurate donor and fundraising information in departmental systems and records.
• Coordinate project details, timelines, materials and follow-up, and conduct basic research for fundraising and donor engagement.
• Collaborate with Philanthropy staff and other departments, and handle donor and organizational information with discretion.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, communications, marketing, administrative support or a related area preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, work independently and collaborate with others.
• Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic Charities of Philadelphia.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with fundraising or donor management systems preferred.

Work is primarily office-based with occasional local travel or event attendance, and occasional evening or weekend availability may be required.
