Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient (PRN)

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient, PRN supports a smaller‑volume inpatient pharmacy within a 90‑bed hospital. The position works across multiple pharmacy functions, including manual carousel operations, sterile compounding, Pyxis support, and medication distribution for the ED, ICU/Step‑Down, and outpatient infusion services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide distributive pharmacy services and assist the Registered Pharmacist.
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems and fill medication carts daily.
• Prepare orders, maintain inventory, and repackage bulk medications.
• Rotate through hazardous and non‑hazardous compounding areas, gaining broad inpatient pharmacy experience.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
• Obtain national Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification within 18 months of hire.
• Preferred: completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program and at least six months of hospital experience.
