PET/CT Technologist

About the role

Phelps Health seeks a Nuclear Medicine / PET‑CT Technologist to perform high‑standard diagnostic and therapeutic exams, ensuring patient safety and accurate imaging results.

Key responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine duties, administer radiopharmaceuticals, and operate PET/CT scanners.
• Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage; maintain radiation safety badges and follow safety protocols.
• Schedule appointments, verify insurance pre‑authorizations, and enter accurate billing charges.
• Conduct daily equipment warm‑up and safety checks, report malfunctions, and assist with biopsies and therapy planning.
• Train and supervise students or junior nuclear medicine technologists.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program (ARRT or NMTCB).
• Current ARRT or NMTCB nuclear medicine certification and AHA BLS certification.
• At least 3 years of nuclear medicine experience; CT or PET experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lb and work under stressful conditions.

Required skills

• Radiopharmaceutical handling and dosage calculation.
• Operation of PET/CT and CT imaging equipment.
• Radiation safety procedures and badge monitoring.
• Basic computer proficiency for record‑keeping and billing.
