Patient Service Specialist - Urgent Care

About the role

The Patient Service Specialist provides a proactive, "Patients First" experience for patients and visitors in the Urgent Care setting. The role involves registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front‑end technology assistance while ensuring a welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient registration, visit preparation, telephone triage, insurance verification, co‑pay collection, and record tracking.
• Assist patients with MyChart enrollment, Appointment Pass, and interpreter service scheduling.
• Conduct proactive patient outreach calls to support health maintenance and care compliance.
• Maintain confidential patient information and adhere to PPE and safety protocols.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED with two years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree with appropriate experience.
• Working knowledge of PC Windows applications and basic math for processing co‑pays.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb.
