Patient Service Specialist

About the role

The Patient Service Specialist supports the Patient Care and Operations Manager by handling administrative tasks in a university health setting, including reception, registration, and scheduling of patients.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, register, and schedule patients both in-person and via phone.
• Enter and verify student immunization records and other medical information in the electronic medical record system.
• Communicate with clinical providers about patient requests and concerns through in‑person or electronic messaging.
• Manage correspondence, including email inquiries, release of medical records, and other health‑center communications.

Required profile

• Professional, diplomatic, reliable, and personable with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment handling high call volumes.
• Experience working with BIPOC, LGBTQ, international, and other under‑represented student communities.
• At least two years of related office experience, preferably in a university health center, and a high school diploma or GED.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑based PCs and multiple software applications.
• Experience using EClinical Works (ECW) and Five9.
