Patient Registration and Admissions Associate

About the role

This position greets patients and guests, handles appointment scheduling, and manages the check‑in and admission process. It ensures accurate demographic and insurance data collection while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service to patients, guests, and families.
• Create, activate, and complete patient scheduling, registration, or hospital admission.
• Gather and input demographic and financial information, explain insurance benefits, and collect co‑pays.
• Perform point‑of‑service collections, balance cash drawer, and prepare deposits.
• Verify insurance electronically, by phone, or via web applications.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a hospital, clinic, medical office, or customer‑service environment.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and handle high‑stress situations professionally.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and role‑specific software.
• Computer data‑entry and retrieval skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare insurance benefits, payer guidelines, and billing regulations.
