Patient Care Nurse Assistant – Pediatrics Float Pool

About the role

The Pediatric Float Pool at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital provides night‑time care for diverse pediatric patients across multiple units. This position offers a flexible schedule, opportunities for learning, and a supportive environment focused on teamwork and patient wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under RN supervision, including vital signs, weight, personal care, and activities of daily living.
• Perform patient transfers, transport, pulse oximetry, point‑of‑care testing, dressing changes, and apply/remove monitoring devices.
• Report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to the RN.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain during new‑hire period).
• Proficiency in reading comprehension and applied mathematics at an eighth‑grade level.
• Eligibility for military‑related experience (Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, Medical Service Technician) considered.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) – preferred.
