About the role
The Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) works night shifts on the Geriatric Psych Unit at Marymount Hospital, providing basic patient care under RN supervision and ensuring a safe, clean environment for patients.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with vital signs, weight, personal care, activities of daily living, patient transfers, pulse oximetry, point‑of‑care testing, dressing changes, and urinary Foley catheter removal.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the RN.
- Maintain patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED (or nursing student with at least one clinical rotation).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) obtained within the new‑hire period.
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting and moving patients.
Required skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pulse oximetry proficiency.
- Point‑of‑care testing competency.
