About the role

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) works under the supervision of a licensed nurse to provide direct, basic patient care in a hospital setting. This is a part‑time, float‑pool position supporting various units as needed.

Key responsibilities

Perform basic patient care tasks such as vital signs, glucometer checks, toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility assistance.
Follow hospital policies on infection prevention, safe patient handling, and promptly notify the nurse of any changes in patient condition.
Document patient care activities accurately and communicate relevant information to the care team.

Required profile

High school diploma or GED (preferred).
At least one year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or willingness to attend the PCA Academy.
Must obtain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first 90 days (training provided).
