Part-Time RN – Medical Telemetry (P-Shift)

About the role

Phelps Health Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to work part‑time on the P‑Shift in the Medical Telemetry unit. The RN will provide direct patient care, ensure safety, and support both patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Follow hospital policies for infection prevention, safe patient handling, critical lab notification, and overall patient safety.
• Maintain central lines, prevent surgical site infections, administer medications, and deliver nursing interventions.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, document care activities, and communicate findings to physicians and the care team.
• Educate patients and families, delegate tasks appropriately, and foster teamwork.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current RN license in Missouri (or Compact licensure).
• One year of nursing experience preferred; graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lb and perform frequent walking, standing, and other physical tasks.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIHSS certification from Apex Innovations.
