Part-Time Bar Bartender

About the role

Loews Arlington Hotel, a large resort and meetings venue in Arlington's sports district, is hiring a part-time Bar Bartender. The team supports 888 rooms, five dining venues, pools, spa services and 266,000 square feet of event space. The bartender crafts signature cocktails and serves beverages with precision and flair, working with a dynamic team to keep guests coming back.

Key responsibilities

• Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including cocktails, wine, beer and specialty drinks, following recipes and guest preferences
• Create and recommend cocktails tailored to individual guest tastes
• Greet guests warmly, take drink orders from guests and servers, and answer questions about menu options
• Handle guest complaints or special requests professionally
• Set up the bar at the start of each shift and keep it clean and organized, including glassware, surfaces and waste disposal
• Monitor and report inventory levels for beverages, garnishes and supplies
• Follow safety, sanitation and alcohol service regulations, verify guest identification and enforce responsible service
• Collaborate with servers, barbacks and kitchen staff, help with restocking and barback duties, and maintain regular attendance
• Attend all mandatory training sessions and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Previous experience in a food and beverage setting is required; bartending experience is highly preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Physical ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly

Required skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages, cocktail recipes, preparation techniques, glassware and bar equipment
• Knowledge of alcohol service regulations (TIPS or local state-approved certification, or ability to obtain it)
• Basic computer proficiency for order processing and inventory tracking
