Paramedic – St. Charles Parish EMS – Full Time

About the role

This full‑time position provides high‑quality, advanced life support in a pre‑hospital setting for the St. Charles Parish EMS. The paramedic delivers care consistent with treatment protocols, supports emergency departments, and treats patients of all ages in diverse, uncontrolled environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced life support, airway management, bleeding control, and circulation restoration.
• Perform patient assessments, medical history intake, and physical exams.
• Document patient care accurately for billing and compliance.
• Maintain and safeguard advanced life‑support equipment and supervise other emergency personnel on scene.
• Deliver compassionate customer service to patients, families, and staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an approved EMT/Paramedic program.
• Licensed EMT/Paramedic in the state of practice and registered with the National Registry.
• Preferred two years of 911 experience as a registered paramedic.
• Current Class D driver’s license, defensive driving course within 30 days of hire, and Haz‑Mat awareness training.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Computer and data‑entry skills.
