Overnight Room Service Orderseller

About the role

The Overnight Room Service Orderseller at Loews Miami Beach Hotel handles the sales side of the Room Service operation. The hotel is a reimagined oceanfront resort in South Beach serving 790 renovated guestrooms and suites, direct beach access, an oceanfront pool deck, Sea Spa, six restaurants and lounges and more than 65,000 square feet of meeting space.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Room Service tracking and control records and files, and stay informed of menu item availability
• Assist guests in selecting food, beverage, wine, dessert and specialty items, making knowledgeable recommendations to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize revenue
• Take and process room service orders on time according to Loews standards, and complete the paperwork needed for proper billing
• Post amenity charges to guest accounts and distribute amenities to servers by confirming room numbers
• Dispatch bussers and servers to handle guest requests, and call back guests to confirm their satisfaction with food quality and service
• Respond to complaints about room service orders and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Knowledge of food and beverage terminology and ability to learn upselling and order-taking procedures
• Exceptional guest service and telephone skills
• Effective organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• High school diploma or equivalent

Required skills

• Computer skills and ability to operate basic office equipment
• Upselling and order taking
