Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Pain Clinic

About the role

Phelps Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its hospital‑attached pain clinic in Rolla, Missouri. The role supports a collaborative team of physicians, providing comprehensive pain assessment and management while upholding the organization’s C.A.R.E.S. values.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the collaborating physician with clinical duties and patient care.
• Conduct holistic evaluations of pain symptoms, including physical, nutritional, mental, emotional, and social aspects.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic pain conditions.
• Monitor prescriptions, manage drug interactions, and tailor regimens based on organ function, comorbidities, and nutrition.
• Provide health screenings, preventive counseling, and lifestyle modification advice.
• Assess daily functioning, recommend assistive devices, and advise on safety.
• Explain conditions, treatments, and preventive strategies in clear, understandable language.

Required profile

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience in pain management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Epic EMR system.
• Experience using Dax CoPilot for clinical documentation.
