New Grad RN Resident - Surgical ICU (SICU)

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital’s Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) as a New Grad RN Resident. You will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care to a diverse surgical population and interact directly with patients, families, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the residency core curriculum and online modules.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and revise patient care priorities based on acuity and resources.
• Respond to risk indicators and initiate corrective actions.
• Seek supervision when needed and document care in medical records.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for critical care.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute direct patient care experience.

Required skills

• Operation of ventilators.
• ICP (intracranial pressure) monitoring.
• Continuous renal replacement therapy.
• Intra‑aortic balloon pump usage.
• Pulmonary artery catheter management.
• Continuous cardiac output monitoring.
• Infusion pump operation.
