New Grad RN Resident – Med/Surg & Telemetry

About the role

The New Grad RN Resident will join the 5 Pavilion Medical Care and Telemetry unit at Fairview Hospital, providing acute inpatient care to adults recovering from medical and surgical conditions. This night‑shift position offers a supportive environment with a dedicated success coach and a one‑year accredited Nurse Residency program.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to patients, families, and visitors while documenting accurately in medical records.
• Participate in the residency core curriculum, simulation labs, and online modules tailored to individual learning needs.
• Prioritize patient care based on acuity, patient preference, and resource availability, and intervene when risks to patient health are identified.
• Seek supervision or assistance when needed to ensure safe and independent practice.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid RN license.
