New Grad RN Resident – Medical/Surgical

About the role

The New Grad RN Resident will join Cleveland Clinic’s Medina Hospital on the 2 South unit, a complex‑medicine floor that cares for pre‑surgical patients, those needing antibiotics, wound care, and advanced procedures. This one‑year accredited residency provides hands‑on training, simulation labs, and online modules to develop competent bedside nurses.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pre‑surgical patients and those requiring antibiotic therapy, wound care, and advanced dressing changes.
• Assist with bedside thoracentesis and paracentesis procedures.
• Provide direct nursing care while collaborating with a success coach and multidisciplinary team.
• Prioritize patient care based on acuity, patient preference, and resource availability.
• Document care accurately in patients’ medical records and report any safety risks.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience.
