Advanced Practice Provider – Operating Room (PRN)

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (NP, PA, or CNS) to work in the Operating Room at Medina Hospital on a PRN basis. This role involves delivering primary and specialty care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting patient education and discharge planning.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Perform and interpret routine laboratory, radiologic, and cardiographic procedures as credentialed.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within state licensure and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Participate in medical team rounds, coordinate care with nurses and physicians, and ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with discharge planning, length‑of‑stay management, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Serve as a clinical preceptor, support professional development, and may conduct research or data collection.

Required profile

• MSN from an accredited APRN program (required within 3 years of hire if not already held).
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and RN in the applicable state(s).
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program as required by the work setting.
• Credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and Governing Body of the hospital.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
• Ability to perform and interpret laboratory, radiologic, and cardiographic diagnostic procedures.
• Advanced assessment and diagnostic reasoning.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
