New Grad RN Resident - Med Surg

About the role

The New Grad RN Resident will join the 2 South unit at Medina Hospital, a 25‑bed complex medicine unit that provides compassionate, patient‑first care. This one‑year accredited Nurse Residency program supports new and early‑career nurses with hands‑on training, simulation labs, and online modules.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients, families, and visitors on a day/night rotation.
• Participate in the residency core curriculum and work with a success coach to develop clinical skills.
• Document patient care accurately in medical records and respond to risk indicators.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program.
• Current state RN licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if hired in a critical‑care area).
• RN licensure and ability to perform procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, PICC placement, and peritoneal dialysis.
