Medical Technologist / Lab Technician IV

About the role

The Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician IV will join Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital’s Lab Administration team. This PRN position works variable night shifts (6 pm‑6 am) and supports high‑complexity testing across all specimen types.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and interpret laboratory tests at all complexity levels following established procedures.
• Handle specimens, conduct analyses, report results, and maintain accurate patient records.
• Execute quality control activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance per manufacturer specifications.
• Identify and resolve quality assurance issues or notify supervisors when performance falls outside acceptable limits.
• Participate in proficiency testing and ensure compliance with CLIA regulations.
• Provide education and training to students, residents, and staff on laboratory protocols and safety.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science/technology from an accredited institution.
• Meets CLIA qualifications for high‑complexity testing personnel (grandfathering clause).
• Certification or eligibility for certification as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLT, or MLS) through ASCP or AMT is preferred.
