Medical Assistant – Internal Medicine (Part‑time)

About the role

The Internal Medicine team at Marymount Hospital seeks a part‑time Medical Assistant to support adult patients across a range of health conditions. The role involves direct patient care, administrative duties, and collaboration with clinicians during weekday shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with screenings, treatments, medication updates, allergy documentation, specimen collection, and test performance.
• Monitor patient conditions, communicate changes to the care team, and maintain examination areas and equipment.
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved medical assisting program or equivalent military medical training (Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain during new‑hire period) and completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.

Required skills

• Medical assisting techniques, including specimen collection and basic diagnostic testing.
• Proficiency in electronic health record documentation and data entry.
