Media Rights Director

About the role

Kings League, a 7-a-side football league with teams chaired by top streamers and content creators, is looking for a Media Rights Director to lead its relationship with the global media rights sales agency and oversee key broadcaster partnerships across international markets. The role shapes and drives the media rights strategy, from setting go-to-market priorities across rights categories, leagues and territories to delivering strong commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the commercial performance of the media rights sales partnership and define go-to-market strategy for rights categories, leagues and territories
• Set standards and oversee systems such as CRM, rights management platforms and reporting tools
• Own broadcaster relationships at a strategic level, including compliance, contract governance and risk management
• Serve as primary contact for broadcaster clients, running the full sales cycle: pitching packages, negotiating rights fees and closing renewals
• Build relationships with senior decision-makers and day-to-day staff, and manage renewal and retention strategies
• Handle day-to-day client servicing, lead onboarding of new clients, run account reviews and reporting, and drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities
• Oversee feed delivery, signal quality and encoding/transmission standards, coordinate with technical teams, and enforce SLAs and technical specs in contracts
• Manage relationships with technical vendors and delivery partners

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in media rights sales, sports media, broadcasting or a related industry
• Proven track record managing broadcaster relationships and leading complex commercial negotiations
• Strong commercial mindset and contract negotiation skills
• Experience working with external agencies or strategic commercial partners
• Familiarity with rights management platforms, CRM systems and reporting tools
• Existing network in the broadcasting and media rights industry is highly desirable; experience with sports, entertainment, film/TV or esports rights is a plus
