CNC Machine Tool Sales Engineer

About the role

Technical Equipment, a distributor of advanced machine tools and related technology in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia, is adding a CNC Machine Tool Sales Engineer to its selling team. The role covers full-cycle sales in the Northern Ohio territory for current and future customers, working with internal support departments and suppliers to deliver manufacturing solutions. The main focus is selling Tsugami, Index, WIA, Murata, YCM and Makino horizontal, vertical and 5-axis machines, including wire and sinker EDMs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new and strengthen existing relationships with customers, prospects and suppliers
• Generate quotation opportunities through continuous support and recommendations to new and existing customers
• Lead projects, demonstrations and other customer-related events
• Prepare and present machine solutions for customer-specific applications
• Enter activity into the CRM system (Salesforce.com)
• Build an in-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry and the company's product lines

Required profile

• Strong passion for the sales process, from discovery to closing
• Strong technical background in tool, die and production machining using innovative CNC machines
• Professional communication and presentation skills
• Previous industrial sales experience is a plus
• Basic technical capability
• Often overnight travel throughout the territory
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance and to work in industrial environments
