Mammography Technologist – Per Diem

About the role

The University of Miami Health System seeks a Per Diem Mammography Technologist (Level I) to perform complex mammography procedures, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Verify orders, patient ID, and obtain consents before each mammography exam.
• Operate mammography scanners and related equipment following radiation safety protocols and age‑appropriate standards.
• Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, including IV placement, contrast injection, and interventional mammography.
• Evaluate technical quality of scans, label and transmit images to PACS, and maintain accurate patient records.
• Provide patient education, reduce anxiety, and perform basic nursing functions as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging program.
• Florida State License as a General Radiographer, ARRT registration, and CPR/BLS certification.
• One year of relevant experience preferred; new graduates from accredited programs will be considered.

Required skills

• Operation of mammography scanners and power injectors.
• Knowledge of PACS, UChart/Radiant, and radiographic equipment.
• Radiation safety procedures and age‑specific imaging protocols.
