Laboratory Technician – Night Shift

About the role

Cardinal Health is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work night shifts in its Nuclear Manufacturing facility in Phoenix. The role supports the production of time‑sensitive radiopharmaceuticals in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture radioactive isotopes, including synthesis set‑up, hot‑cell manipulations and distribution.
• Conduct quality‑control testing using gas chromatograph, dose calibrator, multi‑channel analyzer, TLC plate scanner, HPLC, analytical balance, PTS and fume hoods.
• Operate in ISO 7 cleanrooms to prepare product and customer vials.
• Perform environmental and personnel monitoring in ISO 5, 7 and 8 areas.
• Coordinate daily production runs based on customer and pharmacy needs.
• Maintain daily production records, reports and SAP inventory, including receiving and inspecting materials.
• Execute radiation‑safety tasks and general laboratory cleaning.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; science coursework preferred.
• 0‑1 years of laboratory or manufacturing experience; prior experience in a controlled or regulated environment is a plus.
• Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lb and perform fine‑motor tasks.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.

Required skills

• Operation of gas chromatograph, dose calibrator, multi‑channel analyzer, TLC plate scanner, high‑pressure liquid chromatograph.
• Use of analytical balance, PTS, laminar flow hood and fume hood.
• Experience working in ISO 5‑8 cleanroom environments.
• Basic SAP inventory management.
• Radiation‑safety procedures and documentation.
