Maintenance Technician – The Grove Somerset
Greystar · Somerset
Job description
About the role
The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of the property—including buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality. This full‑time, onsite position supports both resident requests and preventative maintenance activities.
Key responsibilities
- Complete work orders from resident service requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
- Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
- Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying the supervisor of re‑order needs.
- Maintain documentation for service requests to ensure accurate tracking.
- Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and painting.
- Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible.
Required profile
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, reach, carry objects, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Capability to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance).
- Willingness to be on call during evenings, weekends, and holidays and to travel occasionally to other properties.
- Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart where required.
Required skills
- EPA Type 1 certification for refrigerant handling.
- EPA Type 2 or Universal refrigerant recycling certification.
- All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
What we offer
- Competitive hourly pay ranging from $23.00 to $25.00.
- Medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance with low employee‑only costs.
- Generous paid time off: 15 vacation days, 4 personal days, 10 sick days, 11 holidays, plus birthday off after one year.
- On‑site housing discounts at Greystar‑managed communities (subject to availability).
- 6‑week paid sabbatical after 10 years of service (and every 5 years thereafter).
- 401(k) with company match up to 6% after 6 months.
- Paid parental leave and lifetime fertility benefit reimbursement up to $10,000.
- Employee assistance, critical illness, accident, hospital indemnity, pet insurance, legal plans, and charitable giving programs.
