Maintenance Technician II

About the role

The Maintenance Technician II joins Main Street Renewal’s fast‑growing team, handling repair requests and property maintenance for residents across the Birmingham market.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily work orders, gather needed information and supplies, and schedule tasks.
• Complete property maintenance—including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and external repairs—within service level agreement timelines.
• Close work orders promptly, document work with before/after photos, and communicate status to the support center and supervisors.
• Perform rekeying, pre‑move‑in audits, and other property condition management tasks.
• Track supplies and tool usage for restocking.

Required profile

• HS Diploma or GED; 2‑3 years of maintenance experience, at least 1 year in single‑family or multi‑family property management.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to lift up to 50 lb and work on ladders.
• Strong customer service orientation and good communication skills.

• Carpentry and lock‑key repair abilities.
• Familiarity with property management codes and ability to use standard office equipment.
