LPN Float Pool – Full-Time P-Shift with $5,000 Sign‑On Bonus

About the role

Phelps Health Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for its Float Pool. This full‑time, P‑Shift position offers a float pool differential and a $5,000 sign‑on bonus, providing flexible assignments across the facility while delivering high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Follow hospital policies for patient safety, infection prevention, safe handling, and critical lab notification.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide patient and family education.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor patient status, improve quality, and ensure safety.
• Collaborate with supervising RN or Shift Manager to meet all patient needs.
• Document patient care activities and quality monitoring items accurately.
• Communicate patient information to physicians and team members to enhance outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Engage with patients and families promptly to improve the patient experience.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program.
• Current LPN license in Missouri or Compact licensure; graduate practical nurses must obtain a license within 90 days.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lb and perform frequent walking, standing, and other physical tasks.
• Capacity for considerable mental concentration in a fast‑paced environment.
