Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) – On‑site in Okinawa, Japan

About the role

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join its on‑site team in Okinawa, Japan. This full‑time position supports a U.S. government‑contracted medical clinic, providing direct patient care and diagnostic assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in line with clinic policies and nursing standards.
• Check‑in patients, perform triage, and communicate findings to nurses or physicians.
• Obtain and document patient and family medical histories.
• Collect vital signs, specimens, and perform basic laboratory tests.
• Assist physicians with diagnostic procedures such as lumbar punctures, colposcopies, and sigmoidoscopies.
• Administer treatments including IV fluids, catheter insertion, nasogastric tubes, medications, and wound care.
• Transport patients to radiology, therapy, and other clinic areas.
• Prepare patients for examinations, surgeries, and collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Monitor and report patient conditions to registered nurses or physicians.

Required profile

• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) credential.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Okinawa, Japan.
• Ability to perform a full range of nursing and diagnostic support duties.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CHCS/AHLTA electronic health record systems.
• IV fluid administration and monitoring.
• Vital signs measurement and documentation.
• Specimen collection, labeling, and basic laboratory testing.
• Patient triage and assessment.
• Use of diagnostic equipment and assistance with procedures.
