LEU Officer I / II – Law Enforcement Officer

About the role

The LEU Officer I / II serves as a law enforcement professional within the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, operating under authority granted by the Board of Governors. The role focuses on protecting life, property, and assets while enforcing federal laws and Reserve System policies.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol the facility, man security posts, and respond to radio calls.
• Screen personnel and packages entering and exiting the building, issue badges, and enforce security policies.
• Conduct surveillance and respond to emergencies, including activating alarms and coordinating police, fire, or ambulance assistance.
• Test and maintain duress alarms, override functions, motion and entry detection systems, and provide situation reports.
• Manage command‑center equipment such as AEDs, cell phones, and keys.
• Prepare electronic journals, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Participate in special teams, task forces, and carry out special assignments as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• No prior related work experience required for Officer I.
• Ability to complete Federal Reserve System training and certifications.
• Works under moderate supervision, handling routine tasks with occasional need for interpretation of procedures.

Required skills

• Operation of duress alarm systems.
• Use of override functions and motion/entry detection equipment.
• Surveillance equipment handling.
• Radio communication.
• Incident reporting and electronic journal preparation.
• AED operation.
