Associate Director – Security Technology

About the role

Northeastern University seeks an Associate Director of Security Technology to lead the design, deployment, governance and continuous improvement of security technology across its global campus network. This senior position balances strategic planning, architecture and operational oversight for physical security systems worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise security technology program, defining global standards and lifecycle strategies for CCTV, access control, alarms, emergency phones, radio systems and emerging platforms.
• Manage capital projects and vendor relationships for major renovations, new construction and campus expansions, developing scopes, budgets, schedules and risk assessments.
• Provide executive oversight of daily security technology operations, ensuring system reliability, compliance, cybersecurity and data privacy.
• Mentor and develop security technology staff, coordinate cross‑functional teams and oversee external vendors and consultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public safety, IT, engineering, criminal justice, homeland security or related field.
• At least seven years of progressive experience in security technology, physical security systems or enterprise IT.
• Proven experience leading complex, multi‑site security technology programs and capital planning.
• Strong communication skills for executive, technical and non‑technical audiences.
