Legal Counsel Intern – Higher Education Law

About the role
The Office of Legal Counsel at Pratt Institute offers a part‑time, unpaid internship for law students to gain practical experience in higher education, non‑profit, and arts administration. The role provides mentorship, academic credit, and exposure to real‑world legal work in a hybrid setting.
Key responsibilities
- Attend webinars and educational sessions on higher education law.
- Review and draft contracts related to campus facilities and maintenance.
- Assist in‑house counsel with legal research projects.
- Perform additional tasks that support professional development.
Required profile
- Enrolled in law school, entering 2L year or beyond.
- Completed introductory contract law coursework.
- Available 8–16 hours per week during the academic semester.
- Interest in higher education, arts, and non‑profit legal matters.
