Legal Operations Manager

About the role

FanDuel is seeking a Legal Operations Manager to lead and enhance its outside counsel management program. The role partners with legal, finance, procurement and IT teams to drive operational excellence and cost transparency.

Key responsibilities

• Drive execution of outside‑counsel strategy, including billing guidelines, rate structures and performance metrics.
• Lead 1‑3 year strategic planning for counsel management and oversee budgeting, forecasting and spend analytics.
• Manage invoice review, approval workflows, accruals and budgeting to ensure compliance and financial accuracy.
• Partner with IT, Finance, Procurement and Accounts Payable to improve system capabilities and data integrity.
• Conduct spend benchmarking, market analysis and rate negotiations, and provide actionable insights to legal leadership.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in legal operations, finance or related roles with deep outside‑counsel management expertise.
• Strong financial acumen, budgeting, forecasting and data‑analysis skills.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional spend‑management programs in a global or matrixed environment.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
