Insurance Defense Associate Attorney – Transportation

About the role

abramslaw is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join its Transportation Department in Brooklyn. The attorney will handle all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal, providing high‑quality counsel to our transportation clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense matters from intake to resolution, including trial and appellate work.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct depositions, take witness statements, and perform legal research.
• Appear regularly in court for conferences, oral arguments, and trial proceedings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategy.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in New York (pending admission acceptable); New Jersey license is a plus.
• 4+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
• Strong oral and written advocacy skills with a detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven approach.
• Ability to work independently, engage directly with clients, and prioritize tasks effectively.
