Learning and Development Specialist

About the role

The Learning and Development Specialist will oversee and coordinate training for BDA's warehouse operations teams, driving a robust learning culture across multiple locations. This hands‑on role blends floor observation with curriculum design to create scalable, high‑impact training programs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver onboarding, upskilling, systems, and compliance training through in‑person, virtual, and on‑floor sessions.
• Manage training logistics, attendance tracking, and LMS administration (Workday).
• Facilitate simulations, coaching, and skills practice, providing actionable feedback to participants and leaders.
• Develop and maintain training documentation, certification tracking, and recertification processes for safety‑critical activities.
• Measure learning impact, track speed to competency, and identify skill gaps for targeted upskilling.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience facilitating training programs, preferably in an operations environment.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience with organizational change initiatives and safety‑related certification processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Workday) for course administration and reporting.
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
• Design tools such as Canva for creating instructional materials.
• Certifications in virtual facilitation, adult learning, or related professional training programs (preferred).
