Lead Pharmacist - Inpatient

About the role

The Lead Pharmacist supports inpatient pharmacy services at Tradition Hospital, a 177‑bed acute‑care facility in Port St. Lucie. Working on the second floor, the pharmacist collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective medication management across multiple departments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate work activities for assigned practice areas, providing performance feedback.
• Train, mentor, and precept pharmacy residents, students, and caregivers.
• Participate in hiring, interview, and candidate selection processes.
• Oversee workflow, process decisions, project implementation, and drug shortage management.
• Review medication orders, identify and resolve drug‑related problems, and advise prescribers on formulary alternatives.
• Provide drug information support and contribute to health‑system level policy decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an AACP‑accredited program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (or eligibility for reciprocity within 90 days).
• Completion of a PGY2 Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency, or a PGY1/PGY2 residency plus one year experience, or three years relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and immunization administration training.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
