Lead Dialysis Technician

About the role

The Lead Dialysis Technician will provide leadership and training to Dialysis Technologists at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital. This role involves performing CRRT and Peritoneal Dialysis procedures on acutely ill patients while ensuring high‑quality technical support and compliance with policies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train and develop Dialysis Technologists and assist with policy implementation.
• Perform Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) procedures on acute patients.
• Evaluate equipment and supplies, maintain technical QA/QC audits, documentation and inventory.
• Prepare, transfer and package dialysis mixtures, troubleshoot equipment issues and support the technical team.
• Provide backup call‑in support and participate in clinical research projects.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current State certification as a Certified Dialysis Technician (CDT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least three years of Dialysis Technician II experience, including two years of acute dialysis (CRRT and PD).
• Ability to read instructions, communicate effectively in writing and verbally, and work with minimal supervision.

Required skills
