About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital as a Laboratory Technician II, working evenings to support patient‑centered care using sophisticated laboratory equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive, accession, and track laboratory specimens in the LIS.
  • Prepare specimens for analysis, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and routine maintenance.
  • Perform manual and automated processing, operate microscopes, cell counters, and computerized analyzers.
  • Investigate and resolve specimen issues, verify documentation, and maintain accurate data.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of laboratory experience (associate degree can substitute for up to one year).
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lb and work in a stationary position for extended periods.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS).
  • Experience operating microscopes, cell counters, automated equipment, and computerized analyzers.
  • Specimen handling techniques, including centrifugation and aliquoting.
