ITM Coordinator / Life Safety Specialist

About the role

The Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) Coordinator / Life Safety Specialist oversees fire protection, emergency power, medical gas, vacuum, and other critical utility systems across Phelps Health facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate ITM activities for critical utility and life safety systems.
• Maintain and organize ITM documentation for compliance and survey readiness.
• Conduct audits of in‑house and contractor work, reporting deficiencies to senior leadership.
• Support pre‑construction risk assessments, including ICRA and ILSM inspections.
• Provide field quality control oversight for wall penetrations, fire doors, and related safety measures.
• Assist the Environment of Care Committee with quarterly and annual reporting.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and influence behaviors.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Certified Life Safety Specialist for Health Care (CLSS‑HC) preferred.
